Unusual Plants: The Beth Chatto Gardens by Beth Chatto - - Pick Up Only

With an eye for details and a uniquely engaging style, Beth Chatto's written descriptions are the result of personal experience and close observations gleaned from a lifetime of living among her plants. Unusual Plants was the name of the nursery founded by Beth Chatto in 1967 at her home in Elmstead Market, Essex. Chatto used her garden as a 'living catalogue', allowing visitors to select plants based on their specific site conditions, a method that revolutionized horticultural displays at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where she won ten consecutive Gold Medals from 1977 to 1987.

This book lists plants according to their environments (eg drought-loving, lime-hating, shade, cool, wet conditions) and their attributes (eg attracted to bees and butterflies, seed heads, foliage plants).
